A quintessential hole in the wall with fluorescent lights, wonky tables and probably the best dirt cheap seafood you can find in the barrio of Barceloneta, if not the whole city of Barcelona.

When we lived on Carrer de la Vila Joiosa, a stone's throw away from Can Maño, we probably ate here three, four times a month. Understanding a bit of Catalan or Spanish helps if you're interested in the daily specials, which most of the time are explained (rudimentary) at the table. Otherwise just order whatever looks good. There are English menus, and the salmonetes, gambas and calamar never disappoint. We always order the soggy fries too. Pair with a bottle of white Turbio or some ice cold beers. Finish with a piping hot and pleasantly strong carajillo.
